Gerald Meissner is continuing the best tradition of the russian school having been a student of Prof. Jela Spitkova, one of David and Igor Oistrach’s most prominent students, and combining this influence with the knowledge of other teachers like Prof. Matheos Kariolou and Prof. Michael Frischenschlager. From a young age he dazzled auditions all over the world with his brillant performance. On many locations he has toured Europe and Asia where he gave concerts to high critical acclaim. He is a highly versed musician performing most of the classical musical repertoire as well as the Jazz repertoire. He is in great demand as a teacher in Austria, achieves success in the highest level of music perfomance and teaches at the Richard Wagner Conservatory in Vienna.
University Instructor
Since 2013, Gerald Meissner has served as a university instructor for violin and viola at the Richard Wagner Conservatory in Vienna and visiting instructor at a number of Chinese universities. His students at the Richard Wagner Conservatory have the opportunity to achieve the »State Teaching Certificate« (IGP), the »Arts Diploma« as well as the international degrees »Bachelor of Arts« and »Master of Arts«.
